Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Back in the tomb of the fabled Mad King in Blackwater at the room where Shiro was being held. There's a room to the south which seems barren aside from two things.

First, there's a treasure hunter here by the name of Mandala. She wants to find the Mad King's loot (and have a bit of bonus dialogue with Stromgaard if he's in your party), but doesn't know where the secret entrance is.

If you look at the room closely, you'll notice the pillar in the northeast part of the room with a piece of it sticking out. You can hit this and, well, it does reveal something...said Mad King fighting your party to protect his treasure. Capital!

The Mad King is a very very nasty threat with some extremely strong attacks at his disposal. Iron Break & Poison Sword are melee physical strikes and are the main reason I had Outsider here. Him being the same element as the boss really knocks the damage down. Compare that to Griever who gets smacked around hard.

Even worse? Poison Sword inflicts the obvious ailment so the damage from its physicals + poison damage puts Griever on a very thin line between surviving and being KO'd if she's not close to full health. Derek would have been a better fit for her spot honestly due to being a dark innate character.

Besides the physicals, he's got a strong AoE magic attack in Black Wind, forcing you to be very diligent in dispensing heals with anyone available.

Mages once again are going to be the only way you'll reliably be able to do damage since the Mad King is actually more evasive than the Mist Queen. Spam them Lightray spells along with any tier 2 spells you have available. Don't be afraid to equip fresh healing items too since you'll likely be burning through a bunch of them in this battle.

The Mad King does have a nice steal on tap, the Diamond Dust. Highest tier of party healing available at 750 hp recovered for the entire team.

Once beaten, the boss coughs up a ton of exp for my team due to his high level as well as a nice helm, the Circlet of Insanity. 12 physical defense, 4 weight, and -20 magic. Basically, throw this on a frontliner who doesn't care about magic, simple as that.

After the fight, Mandala's still interested in finding treasure and joins the army. She's kinda meh, but does bring a new special skill to the table called Smokescreen. This lets you escape from any random battle (Normally you can't) so long as it isn't a forced fight of some sort.

One final minor clip involves Wilona at Mayfall. I had just enough combined magical stats to reach 400 which, for Wilona, is good for an A rank, meaning she'll now join the army.

Considering how previous characters that provide a service at the castle are pretty bad in combat aside from Deke, Wilona's decent with a magical stat comparable to Daniel and high speed. She even uses a pencil for her main attacking weapon which is pretty hilarious. She's also the second character besides Col with the Scan skill.

Next time, we finally get back on track with the story.
