Exit Fate #31 - Exploring Faraday City
Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.
The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Mainly just going to be checking things around Faraday City in this video.
At the university, there's lots of npcs to chat to. Most don't say anything of importance, but there is one named npc with a portrait, Darwin. He's working on a thesis and wants to wrap that up before worrying about anything else like joining an army or stuff like that.
Just off in the corridor to the east of the save crystal, there's a npc that can appraise all forms of art. This'll come to play after we visit that priest that came to town looking for Daniel.
That priest is waiting at the inn so mosey on over to see what his story is.
The priest introduces himself as the high priest of Cento Temple, Deus. His story is that he's seeking out help because the temple's come under attack multiple times as of late. With the State Army all tied up in the war, he had to appeal for someone's help, hence why he wanted to meet with Daniel when he learned he was in the area.
Since Daniel's got nothing else on his plate, he's going to help out Deus. The priest tells him to head to Cento Temple where the head priest will fill Daniel in on the finer details.
Oh yes, Deus also temporarily joins the party. Thankfully, he's quite capable in combat with respectable magic, high magic defense, and very good hp for a mage.
Deus also comes with a special skill that previous party member Luther had, Aura. It heals all adjacent allies for 1/6th of the user's hp. Sounds useful on paper, but it really isn't due to having to arrange your party just to get the most benefit from it. The heal isn't all that good either since most enemies nowadays can easily outpace the healing output.
Before heading off to Cento Temple, there's two characters to recruit. The first one requires you to exit town and head due west to Sibet Town. There's a magic shop here with all the tier 2 elemental spells in stock at very high prices.
More importantly though, in the far western edge of town there's someone tending to his crops in the field, Hawk. Bartolli had mentioned a couple videos ago about how he wanted some fresh ingredients from out in the field, the likes of which this guy can provide.
Hawk's combat prowess is pretty sub par, but him joining the army adds healing consumables to Bartolli's shop which will update in stock as new ones in other towns are located.
As for the last character, it's going to take a bit of running around Faraday City to accomplish. Right after entering town, you'll want to head west to reach the house of a painter by the name of Venkal. He mentions someone by the name of Walters who had allegedly bought some of Venkal's paintings for cheap, resold them at much higher amounts, then turned around and denied they were Venkal's in the first place.
Since Venkal seems to be unwilling to provide much help beyond that, we're going to have to bring in some outside assistance. Remember that appraiser in the university? Head over and tell him to meet up at Venkal's house to check out some paintings.
Back at Venkal's house, the appraiser looks at the paintings and his first analysis is that they look very similar to a previous set of paintings he was asked to appraise. Venkal, ever the charming individual, gets even more furious that others are trying to butt in to his issues and asks the appraiser and Daniel to leave.
While that Venkal lead dried up, there's still one last thing that can be done...to get the truth straight from the horse's mouth as they say. That means paying a visit to this Walters guy in his mansion at the northeastern part of town.
When Daniel tries to get a confession out of Walters that he basically conned Venkal, the latter guy comes waltzing in and basically says to ignore that guy...then decides to go full turn coat and join Daniel's army, complete with telling Walters to go to hell and all that.
Venkal's another guy who's service is more useful than his almost nonexistent combat capabilities. After showing off Wilona's service at the castle (combat related stats basically), Venkal can be found by going east from the meeting hall's entrance into the next screen, then going south and taking the stairs up. Head east and take the door at the end of the hall to your north to find Venkal's room.
Talking to Venkal (or the npc that costume changes into Venkal if he's in your party) will have him hand over a couple menu sets. You can have Venkal change up the color & style of your menus with his service, the likes of which I show off by switching to the blue theme.
More next time!
