Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Time to finally check out Faraday City. You should see the very tip of it to your southeast after exiting Oischin Forest so walk on over to it.

In town, there's a few things that can be checked out, one of which is another character that can be recruited. For now though, I only check out the blacksmith which can upgrade weapons to level 8. Costs for upgrading them are getting mighty expensive though.

Keep heading north until you locate the giant building that is Faraday University. Like the town, there's quite a bit to check out, but we're here to see the headmistress who can be found in her office straight north from the save point.

Headmistress Marian is a busy woman as you can tell with her initial dialogue bits. She does know of someone who's doing research into memories via hypnosis and that person's name is Cantor. She brings Daniel over to see him right away.

Cantor starts out his assessment by stating the typical way someone with memory loss recalls something...a trigger of sorts whether that be a phrase or an action of sorts. In Daniel's case, meeting Brunhild at Elysium Castle should have been that trigger.

Cantor then proposes his own idea...using a spell he developed, he can send a client into a dream like sleep and experience memories of the lucid kind. If Daniel's desire to seek out the truth is strong enough, he'll be able to discover his lost memories.

With no hesitation, Daniel submits himself to this deep dive and falls asleep as the result of Cantor's spell.

The memories begin at a very early point in Daniel's life during the last months of a war, one he & Angel were quite involved in. There's some light fighting you'll have to do as your traversing the forest. Even with this dive into the past bringing Daniel back to lv1 along with Angel, you still have your spells from the real world amusingly enough so there should be little trouble getting through the battles.

After a couple fights, the duo catches up with a young Jovian. This is where Daniel realizes where he's at...the Kirgard-Almenga border roughly eight years ago, meaning the soldiers he & Angel have been fighting have been hailing from Almenga.

One more set of soldiers getting cut down later with Jovian in the party, there's some questioning again about Jovian's motives and if he truly was the one to betray Daniel at Kelsinger Pass. Hard to say really. Would Jovian truly break up his friendship just to follow his own beliefs and ideals and bring peace to his nation?

Whatever the end result of that may be, Daniel's memory timeskips forward to his hometown of Levier. Surely there's something here that might help Daniel's memory come back...and there is. You can enter any door you see, but most just dump you outside the house with a flash of light.

The place where you need to go is located in the very narrow passage to the west of the inn. Take it to the north, then look for a building with an open door. Head up the stairs in this building, then enter the door.

Inside, Daniel finds what appears to be a young Brunhild. That's good and all, but this Brunhild does a costume change into....Daniel? Cue the Xenogears "aw crap" sound that sends chills up my spine like that one Seraphic Blue song does.

And the punchline to all this? Fake Daniel is a creepypasta alternate universe version of the real deal. The eyes sell it all folks!

Oh, and that aw crap sound leads right up to the theme song of this evil version of Daniel...none other than Id's theme from Xenogears which suits him oh so perfectly here.

Despite Daniel trying to get some kind of answer from his evil twin regarding Brunhild and why he can't remember anything about her, evil Daniel pulls the Persona 4 "You're me!" card, even throwing in a creepy pale green color to the scene to drive that point home. That's where Daniel says "no mas" and wills himself out of his hypnosis, complete with his evil side claiming to be a part of him, the real Daniel, and our Daniel should just accept him.

When Daniel wakes up, he's no more wiser about his memories...in fact, it just brought up many more questions for him.

What has been answered though is that dream of his from the start of the game. Clearly this evil Daniel is the one depicted in that scene, but why he's there is still a big mystery.

Outside, Daniel converses with Ljusalf & Yan Angwa about what he experienced. Ljusalf then mentions a priest from Cento Temple is at the inn and he wants to speak to Daniel.

Next time, we'll go see what this priest wants.
