Because after sequence breaks, glitches that mess up cutscenes tend to be the most satisfying of them all.

I: you can break out from the prologue cutscene, just press X and R1 at the same time around or after the pre-rendered cutscene to cause a quick aerial break-out. This way Kratos starts out standing upright instead of being in chains. The camera is pretty crazy in this part, and casting magic can create some very skewed perspectives...

Unfortunately this apparently can't be used as a speed tactic. Having broken out, Megaera never appears and the cutscene does not progress at all. Besides that, the next map doesn't seem to be loaded down below, so it's not like you can just jump to Chapter 1, at least so far.

II: sorry, volume suddenly increases in these clips. So, this is Chapter 3 before the boss fight. You can use magic to break out of the cutscene where the boss smashes inside the house. Again, looks strange, but you can't progress in the game afterwards. Falling into the pit below is your only option after doing the break-out.

III: it turns out that you can break out of some cutscenes in the middle too. If a story cutscene is punctuated by a pre-rendered cutscene, you can press R1 and X simultaneously at a certain time after skipping the cutscene to cause a break-out. This probably doesn't work with every cutscene, but at least here in the Chapter 27 story cutscene it works. You can tell that Kratos is very interested in what Orkos has to say.

IV: a pretty bizarre break-out at the end of Chapter 28. By casting magic during the transition to Fury Citadel, Kratos does a strange "landing" animation after the cutscene. He is also completely immobile after that and never budges again... a new checkpoint is also not created upon arriving into Chapter 29, so reloading takes you back to Chapter 28 before solving the puzzle.
