How to Change Apple ID Password if Forgotten
0If you've forgotten your Apple ID password, you can still reset it directly from your iPhone using a trusted phone number. This process ensures that you can regain access to your account without needing the current password, as long as you've previously linked a phone number to your Apple ID.
To begin, open the Settings app and tap your Apple ID profile at the top of the screen. From the next screen, select Sign-In and Security, then tap on Change Password.
Your iPhone will prompt you to verify your identity using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Once verified, you'll be taken to the password reset page. Normally, you would be asked to enter your current password before creating a new one. However, if you’ve forgotten it, look for the Forgot Password option and tap it.
You will then be asked to enter the trusted phone number linked to your Apple ID. After typing in the number, tap Continue. A verification code will be sent to your device via text message. Enter that code, and you’ll be allowed to set a new Apple ID password without needing the old one.
This method is secure and works as long as you have access to your trusted phone number. Once your password is changed, it will update across all Apple services such as iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and the App Store.
