Let's Play Binary Domain | Episode 4: Sewers | Chapter 2: Yearn for Refuge | Iron Raptor | Bot Horde
2Welcome back to Binary Domain, a futuristic Sci-Fi Third Person Shooter Developed by SEGA that takes place in Japan in the year 2080. Cybernetics have advanced and androids are being used as the predominant force in the world. In order to maintian laws and peace, the New Geneva Convention has been signed and a special task force named RUST has been prepared to deal with international violations in the field of robotics and robotic warfare. Our protagonist, Daniel Marshall, belongs to RUST and has been tasked with infiltrating Japan and arresting Amada, a genius in the field of Robotics, for his transgressions. To that effect, other members of RUST will also be joining them. The game focuses primarily on shootouts, but it also has RPG mechanics with gear and upgrades. It also features a trust system for all your allies that determines how favourably they follow you or respond to your commands. The game also has a voice command feature for deeper immersion, but we have kept that turned off since we are employing commentary.
The team finally gets to meet Mifune and pay up a deposit. The man tells them that the only way into the upper levels for people like them is to use the Sewers which are coincidentally also unblocked channels that drain the city's waste. He also provides them with jetskis for transportation at 5 Million credits apiece.
That is when the Robots decide to raid the lower levels in search for the team and force them into combat.
The team narrowly escapes atop five Jet Skis and manages to make it to the waste management plant through a hail of bullets. But before they can head into the plant itself, the first need to eliminate a fighter jet that is intent on levelling the plant with them still inside it. A hard battle and many stinger missiles later, the plane is finally downed and the team can proceed further.
A new team is former composed of Dan, Lee, and Charlie that takes the first turn at the elevator. Things had been going a little too suspiciously smooth until then because the rearguard, composed of Boateng and Rachel, found themselves trapped in a coloumn with rising water levels.
Daniel rushed back to save them without thought and shut the gates from the control panel after hastily fighting through a horde of enemies alone, risking limb and life. When he finally saved them and they headed back to the elevator, they heard a noise while the evelator was coming down. It was a whole bunch of discarded robots that had grown hositle and threatened to overrun them.
With their only option beign to hold out against the onslaught while the lift came back, they patiently held their own. They stepped on as soon as they found the first chance to do so with only Rachel reamining. While she did show off her impressive vertical leap by grabbing on to the rising platform that was quite a few feet above her head, the discarded bots also grabbed on to her, threatening to pull her down. At that juncture, Bo held on to her while Dan shot them down one by one.
Finally out of trouble, the team parties decided to rendezvous again before proceeding onwards.
