Let's Play Binary Domain | Episode 7: Chase | Chapter 4: Refuse and Resist | Truck Chase | Tsar Boss
2Welcome back to Binary Domain, a futuristic Sci-Fi Third Person Shooter Developed by SEGA that takes place in Japan in the year 2080. Cybernetics have advanced and androids are being used as the predominant force in the world. In order to maintian laws and peace, the New Geneva Convention has been signed and a special task force named RUST has been prepared to deal with international violations in the field of robotics and robotic warfare. Our protagonist, Daniel Marshall, belongs to RUST and has been tasked with infiltrating Japan and arresting Amada, a genius in the field of Robotics, for his transgressions. To that effect, other members of RUST will also be joining them. The game focuses primarily on shootouts, but it also has RPG mechanics with gear and upgrades. It also features a trust system for all your allies that determines how favourably they follow you or respond to your commands. The game also has a voice command feature for deeper immersion, but we have kept that turned off since we are employing commentary.
After their little R&R in the Resistance Headquarters, Dan, Faye, and Cain decide to see Shindo, the leader of the underground Japanese Resistance who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty on the front lines, and see what plans he may have come up with since their goals align.
They are surprised to find Shindo meeting with Mifune who tells them about the plan to get inside Amada Corporation by using a bribed truck driver to smuggle them in. However, before they can enact it, Shindo's trusted right-hand man and close friend, Yoshiki turns out to be Hollow Child who gets activated and corrupts the rest of the droids around them with the exception of CN-7, and sets them after the fighters in the underground headquarters.
After defeating the general-purpose droids turned hostile, which is not a tall order, and perhaps losing Mifune in the struggle, they escape aboard the same Amada truck and head straight for the corporation for the assault is supposed to take place in an hour even as per Charlie.
It is a long road and Police Inspector Kurosawa spots them from a helicopter, sending pursuit units after them. After waves of them fail to do the trick, Kurosawa sends in a Tsar Racer, a gargantuan robot in the form of a motorcycle meant to chase down and permanently stop hostile suspects, after them.
After a long as intense battle, they finally manage to take it down as well.
However, as they approach Amada Corp, they realise that they have jumped from the frying pan and into the fire as they come face to face with two Howitzers and an army of battle droids.
Thankfully, Dan still has a rocket launcher from his battle with the Tsar Racer and purchases a couple of Anti-Robot Rockets as well from the nearby vending machine to eliminate both the Howitzers.
But the team isn't out of trouble yet for the enemy reinforcements are on the way. Luckily for them, the Howitzers failed to self destruct, meaning that Cain can hack into their systems and transfer control to Dan, who can use them to unleash all kinds of hell and havoc upon the oncoming hostile droids.
And that is exactly what they do. At the end of the onslaught, they find themselves face to face with the main gate of Amada Corporation. It is a reinforced gate with no other way around it. Thankfully, force and violence are the solution to this as well as they simply shoot the gates open, leaving their path into the establishment free of any kind of enemy resistance.
