200back to Binary Domain, a futuristic Sci-Fi Third Person Shooter Developed by SEGA that takes place in Japan in the year 2080. Cybernetics have advanced and androids are being used as the predominant force in the world. In order to maintian laws and peace, the New Geneva Convention has been signed and a special task force named RUST has been prepared to deal with international violations in the field of robotics and robotic warfare. Our protagonist, Daniel Marshall, belongs to RUST and has been tasked with infiltrating Japan and arresting Amada, a genius in the field of Robotics, for his transgressions. To that effect, other members of RUST will also be joining them. The game focuses primarily on shootouts, but it also has RPG mechanics with gear and upgrades. It also features a trust system for all your allies that determines how favourably they follow you or respond to your commands. The game also has a voice command feature for deeper immersion, but we have kept that turned off since we are employing commentary.
The little RUST Crew has managed to make it to the upper levels of Tokyo, where all the rich and affluent people reside in peace and blissful ignorance. They wish to wait for the French team of the IRTA force there.
Dan walks around and makes idle chatter with everybody, including the locals who want nothing to do with him. To his credit, such a reaction is not unwarranted to stinky, heavily armed men.
They waited there for a while and eventually got impatient with the typical French tardiness. So they decided to venture out when a commotion drew their attention. They followed it to see a light gray van being chased by a police pursuit.
Deeming it to be the French Force, they made haste to go meet it and found themselves in the car of a familiar face. Jean had been keeping questionable company in CN-7, informally known as Cain, the combat droid used by the French Rust Team. However, the time for objections was later. For now, they must fend off the police pursuers. Dan pokes his head out of the sunroof and guns down any and all following hostiles.
This continues until the point that the crew reaches a roadblock complete with a Howitzer and an army for them to fend off. They manage to stop the vehicle and Jean dies in the process. Valuing the success of the mission, Big Bo, Charlie, and Rachel move on ahead to form an advance party while Dan, Faye, and Cain hold off the robot force at bay.
After a long and gruelling shootout, they decide to move on as well and try and rendezvous with their allies. They face some minor resistance as they travel through a variety of factories including an indoor automated farm and a manufacturing plant.
At one point, Cain and Dan get trapped in a gas chamber of sorts and have to fight their way out by disabling the Ozone Generators.
Coupled with a short trolley ride, they finally manage to meet their friends on the rooftop of the same building. They now need a way across.
Thankfully, Cain has a wire gun hidden inside his body that the others can utilise as a zipline. To make things difficult, the armed response shows up at their location with aerial as well as terrestrial troops. Dan decides to hold them off until the rest have had a chance to securely get across. He then gets on to the zipline himself with Faye right in front of him. That is when the policeman chasing the Rust Cew shoots the zipline with pinpoint accuracy, causing Dan and Faye to fall down into the depths of the Upper Levels.
Thankfully for Dan, he gets saved by falling onto the train passing under him. Meanwhile, Faye gets saved by CN-7 who can apparently fly as well. They soon infiltrate the Train for a safer journey as they make plans about regrouping with the rest of the team.
