[Mage] Daggerfall Unity [10] | The Initiation | Order of Arkay |The Missing Scholar|Disporgon Shrine
Welcome back to The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, a role-playing game originally made by Bethesda for the MS Dos. For this playthrough, we are using the Unity remake of the game and a lot of mods to enhance the experience. The game involves navigating the sensitive political landscape of the Illiac Bay, a region of Tamriel on the fictional planet of Nirn comprising of the countries within the bay as well as the various fragmented powers surrounding it on both High Rock and Hammerfell. We have been sent to the place on a mission by our Emperor Uriel Septim VII to investigate two curious instances, the shade of King Lysandus that roams the streets of Daggerfall at night and a letter that he sent to the Queen of Daggerfall a few years ago that never reached her. Despite being a dungeon crawler at heart, Daggerfall places a lot of emphasis upon the player's individual exploration as choosing one among the various political factions in the region as they navigate the complex mess that is the Illiac Bay. In this playthrough, we will be playing as a Spellcaster and will shift our focus towards the Mages' Guild and the Order of Arkay.
Returning to the Order of Arkay in the Illesan Hills, Strangeblood decided to serve the Order of Arkay once again, hoping to gain a promotion within their ranks. This time around, the temple was in a sort of a bind where one of their members, Mordyval Ashsly, went on an archaeological dig in The Disporgon Shrine, looking for an ancient artefact. He has since not returned and has been presumed missing within the labyrinthian mazes of the dangerous dungeon.
Strangeblood was tasked with going into the dungeon and searching the man out.
Upon entering the Disporgon Shrine, it seemed like quite a quaint little place. However, as Strangeblood started exploring more of the dungeon, he quickly realised how large and expansive the place could be. Not only that, the place was also full of puzzles meant to keep intruders out and it seemed to be an abandoned fort of sorts that was currently being used as an abode by a variety of clerics, monks, and healers alike.
While it was unfortunate, but in his quest for the Missing Scholar, Strangeblood had to put them down nonetheless for they were hostile to him despite being of the same inclinations as he was.
His search came to an end when he found the scholar behind a door leading to a room that was meant to act as a crypt of sorts, with access to the whole area being barred by a mechanically deployed gate. Grabbing the scholar, Strangeblood wasted no time in teleporting back to his recall anchor and handing him over to the Quester.
He then talked to the Quester to receive a well-deserved promotion to the rank of Initiate as he formally received his initiation into the Order of Arkay.
Here is how Strangeblood became an Initiate:
