Let's Play Binary Domain | Episode 6: Resistance | Chapter 4: Refuse and Resist | Gorilla Boss Fight
3Welcome back to Binary Domain, a futuristic Sci-Fi Third Person Shooter Developed by SEGA that takes place in Japan in the year 2080. Cybernetics have advanced and androids are being used as the predominant force in the world. In order to maintian laws and peace, the New Geneva Convention has been signed and a special task force named RUST has been prepared to deal with international violations in the field of robotics and robotic warfare. Our protagonist, Daniel Marshall, belongs to RUST and has been tasked with infiltrating Japan and arresting Amada, a genius in the field of Robotics, for his transgressions. To that effect, other members of RUST will also be joining them. The game focuses primarily on shootouts, but it also has RPG mechanics with gear and upgrades. It also features a trust system for all your allies that determines how favourably they follow you or respond to your commands. The game also has a voice command feature for deeper immersion, but we have kept that turned off since we are employing commentary.
As Dan, Faye, and Cain find themselves cut off from the rest of the party, they must find a way to regroup. However, before that can happen, they are swarmed by hordes of Police Bots out for their blood. They decided to send CN-7 to the forward car to handle the railroads and smooth and constant operation of the train so that it would not get remotely turned off while they eliminated the enemy forces pursuing them.
After a long firefight, they find themselves alongside Cain, but with more enemies at their rear. Dan eliminates some of them, but one of them gets up to shoot him and Faye dives in to take a bullet for him. Luckily, it was only a shot that grazed her shoulder: a flesh wound. But they aren't out of hot water yet, as a Gorilla stands between them and further progress. Cain accelerates the train and the team jumps off onto the platform as the improvised multi-ton projectile crashes into the Gorilla.
They escape from their pursuers through various levels of the train station only to run into the Gorilla once again. However, the collision with the train had weakened it and left its cranium and the power cells within exposed. It took a few well-timed shots to put it down.
However, as the team was proceeding ahead, the Gorilla began getting back up again. Out of nowhere, it ate a rocket to the face and a man emerged from the distance, beckoning the RUST team to follow them.
As it turns out, the man was Shindo, a part of the underground resistance. Mifune had sent him to aid the RUST Crew and accomplish the common goal of taking Amada down.
They keep moving towards their underground layer, but Police Inspector Kurosawa's chase is relentless as they keep encountering enemy reinforcements. They tell Cain and Shindo to proceed to base while they hold off the enemy. While that in itself was short work, the Gorilla appears once again and is headed straight for the underground car park that they've come to call their headquarters.
Stopping it is now the first priority.
After trying almost everything on it including, explosives, 20 mm Anti-Vehicle Rounds, and Bosonic Blasts from Dan's own gun, the one thing that manages to finally destroy it is a shotgun blast from Dan's new trusty secondary weapon.
With all that done and Faye feeling faint, the team heads into the rebel base where Dan heals Faye and they get quite earnest with each other about their feelings in a rather intimate fashion.
