Wow, these thumbnails are getting better and better.

I wonder if many people have missed the resurrection of this challenge due to my uploading it exactly during the FIFA 2022 final match (I forgot that was going on...). The finale of the challenge run is back, and in this video I show off a gimmick strategy previously unseen in my videos.

Bertha is the Elite Four's ground-type specialist, and she is lucky in that she has a lot of them to choose from. The only mon outside of her typing of specialty is Sudowoodo, and seeing a ground-type elite use a rock-type is perhaps less perplexing than what we're about to see in the following battle. Three of her Pokemon are 4x weak to grass, two being water/ground types who aren't weak to anything else, unless you count Freeze-Dry, which Glalie and Glaceon could get on a normal unrestricted run of the game. With Cynthia also using another grass 4x-weak Pokemon in Gastrodon and physically resilient FlameOrb!Milotic, bringing a specially offensive grass-type can be seen as a wise move.

Quagsire can usually fall to a single round of Giga Drain, possibly with a single instance of damage from Hail, if the damage roll isn't too low, but I have Abomasnow set Aurora Veil before I go for the kill. The added bulk will make the subsequent matchups more bearable. Sudowoodo will come in as a counter that isn't ice-weak only to be destroyed by Machamp's High Jump Kick. Abomasnow will be brought back to face Gastrodon, its next water/ground victim, possibly intoxicated or missing some of its HP. Whiscash holds a Rindo Berry, reducing grass-type damage it takes by half and allowing it to start using a 120 BP special poison-type move in Belch, which kinda dents Aboma. Clever, but it's still going down in two turns.

When Golem comes in, it's Jaboca time! What time, you may ask? Jaboca and Rowap Berries, obtained by walking with Pokemon of certain natures, hurt the attacker by 1/8th of its max HP once when targeted by physical and special moves respectively. As Alakazam gets Sturdy!Golem to 1 HP very reliably with Grass Knot, the berry can then add the missing damage to finish Golem off when taking Earthquake, which is possible thanks to Aurora Veil's protection.

Staravia, who is obviously here for the F.E.A.R. strat, is about to execute boss Hippowdon in much the same way. It's already low on HP, and outspeeding the enemy lets it get its HP down with Endeavour, after which Ice Fang will trigger Jaboca. That's how this quick defeat is possible!

Flint is our next opponent.
