18Well well well, what do we have here here here? A hack hack hack by T McPrimePrimePrime? Let's a-go go go!
I am in a constant state of sleepwalking lately. I quit caffeine a month ago and I felt like I was never really fully awake. You know what's worse? Getting back into it and always crashing from some sort of artificial boost. I'd take back the no-caffeine life in a moment, but I'm really weak.
Ready for a weird truth? Caffeine does not give you energy. Perhaps that is shocking to you,I know it was to me. I thought of it generally like some sort of battery refiller -- a kick to get me through. But it's not really that. It's just a dirty chemical blocking receptors.
Basically, the way caffeine works (and I'm gonna butcher this, so biologists beware) is that it creates a bunch of this chemical that works off the same receptors as your "I feel tired" chemical in your brain. Your brain makes this "I feel tired" chemical for the valid reason of needing sleep (which is another scientific anomaly we will cover in just a moment). What caffeine does is make a bunch of a chemical that simulates it and clogs up these receptors.
So, caffeine is not really making you less tired, it's actually just flooding your tiredness receptors until your body can't figure out its tired.
That's messed up dude. That's a bandaid on the flu.
I can't get into that thing I promised. I'm running on empty today friends. I should have called out of work. It wasn't very interesting, I promise. I hope you have an awesome day, I'm gonna struggle through another six hours of work and take one hell of a nap.
