After the disaster that was the plan for Glarthir to kill all those he thought were conspiring against him, I decided it would be a good time to meet with Sinderion again. He gave me the next potion and asked that the next batch of Nirnroot be 40. I had a feeling that would be the case but I'm already prepared for it. I left Skingrad and started heading towards the Imperial City.

While making my way to my little shack and fighting the various wildlife that seemingly want me dead I came across a Deadra shrine. This one belonged to Clavicus Vile, the Deadric Prince of deals. No matter what he may request it might be too much for me to handle so I decided to just keep moving along. I made it home, dropped off whatever I was carrying on me, and made my way around to greet people.

I spoke with an Orc who seemed down on his luck. I gave him three septims and he then proceeded to tell me what happened. Apparently, an Imperial Watchman accused the orc and one other person of stealing items. Despite having proved that they didn't commit such a crime, he made them pay for the fine anyway. I should speak with Jensine as it happened in her shop.

Before doing so, I wanted to get a match in the Arena. My opponent was a High Elf so I braced myself for magic but she with with a sword and shield. I went to Jensine's shop and asked about what happened regarding her customers and that Imperial Watchman. She didn't want to talk but thankfully I still have my gift of power to charm others. I have made it so that I can do it at range so that I don't have to touch my target. She then proceeds to tell me everything that happened.

Audens Avidius is abusing his power to do as he pleases. Taking items without paying, imposing fines on innocent bystanders, and otherwise just not upholding the law. It seems that because he's an Imperial Watchman the regular guards can't make an arrest but any other watchmen could. So I asked around until I met with a man named Itius Hayn. I tell him of what's happening and he tells me that this is a serious accusation.

He wanted me to present the two victims to him. This should be no problem, all I have to do is convince the Orc and Redguard to come forward and that'll be enough to warrant an arrest on Audens. Unfortunately, neither one will come forward. I'll have to see if Jensine is willing to testify. I ran into Audens and like the fool that I am, I let my emotions get to me and I tell him to his face that he is a crook and deserves to be imprisoned. With that, he declared that I assaulted him and now I have a 1000 gold fine to deal with which makes me an active threat.

I damn myself for being so foolish. Years of misfortune have turned me into an emotional mess. To lose my father, see my mother deathly ill, be arrested and shipped to another province just to handle something that the empire couldn't, be stripped of all my power, identity and be thrown once more in prison for nearly having possession of an illegal scroll of levitation all the while I am unaware of what has happened to my mother and not even the emperor could recognize me.

I am nameless. People know the name of Ertus Raman is dead. I only kept the name as I have nothing else. I stood outside the Imperial City. Ready to burst into tears of rage.

"Unfair!" I cried.

At that moment I recalled a memory. My father had scolded me for getting into a fight with someone else's child. He tells me that if it was truly the other child's fault for what occurred then justice will be served. That child never did get in trouble, and yet I must play by society's rules lest I become an outlaw. I can still make this work somehow. I just need to convince the two victims, Jensine will not come forth despite her having the most compelling evidence.

I went back into the city and paid my fine. I was released back into the streets and I made my move. Before doing so I still felt an incredible rage flowing through me. This plan will not work unless I am clear of my mind so that my judgment will not be affected. I fought another round in the Arena. My victory was quick and thus I advanced to the rank of Warrior. I was feeling slightly better so I decided to move on with my plan.

I sought out the two victims and bribed them to come forth. If words are not enough to move them then money will make things move. They both agreed and I went to see Itius who told me that the two victims I bribed came to him and admitted to what happened. That was enough to warrant an arrest and I went along with Iitus. There was no need for me to do so but to see the look on Audens' face was nothing more than glorious.

Enough time had passed and so I returned to Sinderion to collect the next potion and finally give him the 40 Nirnroot he requested.
