A short video checking out the recently released Borderlands 2 running on both Ubuntu and Windows, both natively thanks to Aspyr. Currently, the Pre-Sequel is in development, so future improvements may take some time.

On both the Ubuntu and Windows side, I am using the NVIDIA 340 series drivers. Thus, discrepancies there should be minimal.

I was surprised to see another great port from Aspyr. I will admit that the Linux port still has some major hiccups with FPS performance here and there, but this could be attributed to my harddrive or even just Ubuntu itself.

My own experience with the game is awesome. Played so many hours with two buddies on two differing platforms, all with DLCs as well, and it just worked. Not to mention just plugging in my 360 controller works right off the bat!

All in all, I highly recommend this title for purchase if you are a Linux gamer who is into First Person Shooters and like a storyline that can move you in ways you are unused to.

I look forward to seeing Pre-Sequel released by Aspyr!

I apologize in advance if I've made any mistakes, I did the comparison to the best of my knowledge and hopefully have a consistent set of constants and variables in place to ensure this test is beneficial to you, the viewer.

It wasn't possible for me to perfectly synchronise this, but I did try as best as I could to keep it similar. This is by no means a perfect benchmark, just something for you to grasp how things are.

For the On-Screen-Display on Ubuntu, I used GLXOSD which can be found here:

For the On-Screen-Display on Windows, I used MSI Afterburner which can be found here:
