War Thunder has been recently released for Linux and it's native! Here's some gameplay with the frames per second showing natively on Ubuntu 14.04 64bit. The settings are at Maximum, but sadly I am unable to run it in proper fullscreen.

Timeline:
1:33 - Aviation Gameplay
10:24 - Land Gameplay
15:32 - Quick How-To for installing the game in Ubuntu.

The entire video is running War Thunder at 1600x900 resolution. 1080p is entirely possible, but I'm unable to get it to go fullscreen.

This is a very well done Linux port, and I didn't have any issues actually playing the game. There are of course features I have yet to test (specifically those related to in-game purchases).

Throughout the gameplay, the frames per second always stay above 50 which is satisfactory!

I'm most impressed with controller support in the game, and how it was able to work well with my Logitech Extreme3DPro.

I did have trouble with my 360 controller and it's axises. I believe it's possible to use it for the Tanks, but I'm assuming a lot more time is needed to set it up properly.

Thus, my experience with flying planes was awesome, but the Tanks felt slow cumbersome and didn't feel as action packed. This is just my experience though, and this is the first time I've played this.
