Hey, Rodin's a Resident Evil fan, who knew?! We have some shopping to do before we start Chapter 3 proper...wait, I didn't have that many Halos last time? Truth be told, I went back and did the first two stages again to get more money. While you can most likely unlock all techniques and weapons by the time you reach the endgame, I want to keep things fun and new so every so often I'll be grinding to get more tools to play with.

For starters, here's the Alt. version of Onyx Roses, so now we can have it on our hands AND feet...and then I forgot to equip it. Oops! Next, Siletto. Similar to the Stinger move from Devil May Cry, this is a gap closing move that lets you keep control of the battlefield a little more effectively. Tetsuzanko is a move that drains from your Magic Meter to produce a Wicked Weave, no combo required! Its a strong move and well worth the cost a lot of the time, and it'll change depending on what hand weapon you have equipped. With Shuraba in hand, we get a Wicked Blade that's got QUITE the range on it. And lastly, Afterburner Kick is a great aerial pursuit move, OR a dive kick should you be so inclined. Onto the chapter proper!

I. Hate. This. Chapter. This is actually my SECOND recording attempt, after several practice runs even! After a chat with Two Head, suddenly everything starts to get hot. Sure, part of this is asset reuse, but its not a simple recycling of the level, it just means they didn't have to make a new level from scratch. Plus, we see all kinds of new things in this part alone!

Flaming enemies right off the bat doesn't help this level get on the right foot with me. They resist most attacks, though gun shots work well enough, as do Torture Attacks and Wicked Weaves. This is one reason I bought Tetsuzanko. The goal here is to get Witch Time going, and then you can attack without issue, but until you know that this is a pain. Oh and watch your step, cuz LAVA EVERYWHERE. In an action game all about zipping along and looking all cool, suddenly having your movements restricted is a bummer.

Here's another Alfheim....and I have no idea why they just don't let it trigger right away. I guess you really DO have to go to the other side of that area and then head back? SO...in my first recording of this I actually beat this challenge no problem...here I flub it up. These...are fun ideas, but aren't very fun. Though a later weapon makes these challenges a tad easier... You get half of a Moon Pearl for beating this one, by the way.

Meet Fairness...who isn't fair at all, attacking right out of a cutscene like that! They're pains to deal with, parrying most of your moves, and that fireball is deceptively fast. I tend to try to land a Torture Attack as soon as I can...but even then there's issues. Also, I swear the mashing sequence for this kill is way harder to get than the others...

Half an LP? Well, that just won't do! I'm sure we'll track the other piece down eventually. After a brief Witch Walk sequence (with yet ANOTHER Viewtiful Joe shout out!), and yet another instant-death QTE here's TWO Fairness enemies! That escalated quickly!

Just so we're clear here, Bayo shot a hole in LAVA. At least, I think so. That whole sequence is super hard to see, what with the fire and framerate taking a hit. Onward! Let's get this level over with already!
