One last trip back to The Gates of Hell! And here is how we obtain new weapons! Demons are bonded to them, and uh…it’s clear that Rodin has to be persuasive! So what mystical, powerful weapon with a demon’s essence housed within are we going to get? A…shotgun? Eh, let’s just roll with it! So yeah, the Onyx Roses are a more close-combat oriented gun weapon. While they do great damage up close, that damage tapers off dramatically at range. As you can see, the shots take a bit to go off and transition to the next hit in a combo, though those shots DO have great stopping power. The Alt version that Rodin sells allows you to put the Onyx Roses on your feet as well, which will dramatically alter Breakdance, but there’ll be time for that later. The song used to lure the demon placed inside this weapon is the Three Marches Militaries by Austrian pianist Franz Schubert. Getting cultured while you fight angels!

Say hello to the Select Menu (or whatever it’s called!). Here’s where you can use ingredients to make items, and view profiles on angelic enemies, demons that Bayo summons and read all the other lore you find. Sorry I kinda sped through these, but like I said before, I can always cover them later!

Oh hai, Beloved! This is a kooky fight, huh? Keep to the air to avoid being staggered and then after a bit you’ll get tossed. And here’s our first instance of a Quick Time Event that causes instant death when failed! Yeah, those suck. And you can bet this won’t be the last…

Well, that’s that. But…huh, the Verse is still up on the top right of the screen…Well, I’m sure its nothi- oh hai, Beloved! Man, I looked so confident and on top of things as this second phase started…my hubris caught up with me! But with one more appearance from Gomorrah, let’s end this Chapter already! Not bad, all things considered, huh? I can guarantee that not every chapter is going to be as long as this. Or go as smoothly!

And so we see Bayo is just some toy on a play mat…how sinister! It’s not a chess board, but it’ll do! We’ve gained a new weapon, some new techniques and slaughtered a LOT of angels. The demons are gonna eat well tonight! Stay tuned for more Bayo soon!
