Bayonetta - Chapter 1 B
Business…or pleasure…uh, Rodin, do I even want to KNOW how you’d hook us up with the latter? This might be rated M already but…jeez.
A-Anyway, welcome to our shop, The Gates of Hell! There’s a LOT here that we can’t do or buy, but I wanted a video dedicated to it overall. I’ll cover what I can now and in the future, but know this…some of this stuff costs a TON of Halos and uh…I ain’t gonna grind for everything, at least not right now.
Weapons are vacant right now, but that’ll change soon, I promise. Then we move onto Accessories. Accessories can be ways to either make the game harder for players, or easier in some ways. I won’t be showing all of these off, I’ll tell you right now. You can kinda imagine their effects from the description, can’t you? Now, there are a few that aren’t present right now and while I’ll TALK about them later, the conditions to unlock them are kinda crazy sooo…yeah, probably not gonna get to them. With Accessories, you can have up to two equipped at any time.
Now, onto Items! Items are “crutches” and as such, you are punished for using them with a fairly harsh score penalty. Of course, if you don’t even CARE about score, there’s nothing stopping you from using them to be sure! By and large, Accessories might grant you something, but it requires finesse to use (like the parry) or something else is taken away from you (like Witch Time or the Magic Meter), but items can just straight up give you more health or attack power, so I guess that’s why you’re punished…I already showed off most of these during the prologue’s Angel Attack ending, but to recap: green is health, red is attack strength, yellow is a shield, and purple is magic. The Red Hot Shot instantly revives you upon death, and as we see here, we get true health and magic increases with the Witch Hearts and Moon Pearls.
Onto Techniques! As you can see, most of these are FAR more affordable than any of the Accessories. Unlike those, we’ll be seeing ALL of these eventually…as soon as I can afford them. Their descriptions should hold you over until then, right? I’m of the opinion that you should go and buy Techniques as quickly as possible, as a more complete moveset for Bayo means a more fun, flexible combat system for the player. To that end, none of these are really “required” to complete the game, but you’re missing out by not buying at least SOME of them.
I go with Air Dodge and Breakdance to start. I’d say Air Dodge is one that you’d REALLY benefit from gaining, and Breakdance is just too fun to use…which you’ll see a bit in the next video! Three Techniques are closed to us now, but we’ll be back!
Rodin’s Treasures…can offer us nothing right now. I’ll just say right now, they’re costumes. Well, expect for one thing, but we’ll get to that later on. And that’ll do it for now! Rodin must love seeing Bayonetta leave, you know what I mean? No? O-OK then…
So yeah, back to the fight…next time!
