After a drink and some Techniques, Bayo’s back in action. I should address this now, I guess…there are LOTS of books in the game that explain more of the lore. While I do find them legitimately interesting, I won’t be covering them yet. I MAY do a video on ALL of these later on, but it’s not on my radar right now. Gotta leave SOME mysteries for the viewers, right? Why not buy the game
yourself to find things out? :P

And here’s another enemy intro. While also seeing Breakdance in (somewhat ineffectual) action, here’s another fun thing about Torture Attacks: enemies will often drop their weapons when killed by one, allowing you to use them in battle! Angel Weapons are limited-use, and while often very powerful, they’re typically slow or leave Bayo vulnerable in some way. The Applaud’s staff is certainly fun for a…pole…dance…^///^ Heh, heh. Oh, h-hey, there Beloved! They might be huge and scary (moreso when you break their armor off and see the gooey innards!), but look at that HUGE, glowing weakspot! A lot of angels have this kinda weakspot, but it’s far more pronounced with Beloved. Not a problem at all!

We’ll finish it off with an Infernal Climax, where Bayo summons one of the demons she’s made contracts with. Here’s Gomorrah, a scary dinosaur-like demon that bellows like an elephant. In addition to dropping its huge weapon (which Bayo is somehow able to shrink), here’s a…golden record? We’ll have to investigate this LP later on…I think we know a guy…

You’ll notice that we go from Verse 4 to Verse 6…just WHERE did Verse 5 go? And here enters the Hidden Verses. In Bayonetta, if you just keep moving you’ll go through plenty of Verses, but some Verses are off the beaten path. Some also require you to backtrack to earlier spots in the level, spots that likely had no Verses at all. As you can see here, we also come across many points of no return, so if you don’t backtrack in time, you can’t go and do that Hidden Verse. Often times too, the triggers for these Hidden Verses aren’t very obvious and for a first-time player, you’ll have no way of knowing. As you can see, I won’t be doing all the Hidden Verses. Sorry. Verse 5 though, is actually back in the room before the portal to the Gates of Hell and you have to go back before you go through that “combo door.”

Flashback time! Time for…a really, really weird encounter with this hideous, angelic dragon…Old Two Head here was quite the odd fight in my first time with this game. You’re meant to just shoot at it, it usually too far away to even hit normally…but that just seems at odds with the rest of the game, doesn’t it? Fun fact, if you never go onto that bridge, those two poor Umbra Witches never have to die. Optional deaths?! What, am I gonna trigger the Bad End?! Two Head here (don’t worry, it gets a name later!) mostly just shoots fireballs at you, but come to the bridge and it’ll lunge at you with both heads. If you dodge them correctly, Witch Time is yours! I just want to stress here that my capture is fine for this battle. This Verse is just not kind to that framerate…ugh.

With that all said and done, let’s- OH LOOK A CROW! So yeah, there are achievements in this game, called Umbran Tears of Blood. In addition to gaining them for, say, beating Chapters or doing something specific, most Chapters often have crows in them that carry a Tear themselves. I won’t be getting all of them for sure, but hey, if it’s there, I’ll try and get it! And what do you know, Rodin’s got another portal going…Hmm…
