Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster - Ch. 3 - Mystic Key
Previously, we did the first part of this massive fetch quest. We met Matoya, who appears to have lost her Crystal Eye. Then we went to Pravoca, where we got our own ship already! Afterwards, we sailed to Elfheim, where we learned that the Elf Prince has been cursed and is currently asleep. A mysterious gentleman in the Western Keep asked us to go the Marsh Cave to retrieve a crown. I was just about to head back to the Western Keep, when my oven timer went off and I needed to dash before the lasagna was burnt. Now we continue...
CHAPTER 3 - THE MYSTIC KEY
So, even though we're only an hour or two into this game, we've already come across many locked doors that can only be opened by the Mystic Key. We'll need to finish this massive fetch quest in order to finally get it. So we're going to take the Crown back to the Western Keep. Surprise, surprise! The guy asking you for the Crown IS Astos, the Dark Elf king. Conveniently, he also has the Crystal Eye. So after a brief boss fight, you'll have both. The Black Mage really pulls their weight here, as their strong magic will really get the job done here.
Once we have the Crystal Eye, we'll head ALL the way back to Matoya's Cave to return it. In exchange, she give us the Jolt Tonic, which we'll need to wake up the Elf Prince. We head back to Elfheim Castle and wake the prince, who FINALLY gives us the Mystic Key. Now, we'll backtrack to all the places we've visited that have locked doors. The Western Keep has one, as does F3 of the Marsh Cave, so we'll hit those up before leaving the continent. Then we'll do the Cornelia Castle and lastly the Chaos Shrine. We'll kill two birds with one stone by leveling up and grinding for money as we backtrack for treasures.
Make sure to grab the Nitro Powder from Cornelia Castle, as we'll need it in the next section!
