Longplay: Donkey Kong (Super Game Boy)
By: Nintendo R&D1, Pax Softnica
Also known as Donkey Kong '94. The game presents itself as a remake of the arcade game, but its four levels can be beaten in seconds with new moves like the backflip and handstand, a few of which would return in Mario 64.
Once you beat 100m, Donkey Kong gets back up, kidnaps Pauline again, and at this point the game becomes a fun puzzle platformer with about 100 more levels. The level design perfectly balances platforming and light puzzles, and fun little cutscenes every four levels demonstrate your big arsenal of moves. Many cool ideas are thrown at you one after another, and a few elements from Donkey Kong Jr are included too.
This is, in my opinion, the best game on the original Game Boy. It almost got a remake on the GBA complete with a level editor, but in the end it was turned into a new game, the equally good Mario vs Donkey Kong.
