S T A L K E R: Call of Pripyat - ( 2022 ) Video #197: A Shocking Prize
I had been able to sell all the looted weapons from Pripyat except two SVDs. There was no one left on the Skadovsk with the money to buy them so I knew I would have to go out to find some buyers. I had managed to make a lot of money and my goal was to at least get back to 500,000 rubles, so that was my incentive. I took off to the west going up the hill along the pipeline and at the top came across a Bandit squad that I sold one SVD to. From there, the road going to the south I saw three Zombies and after killing them, there was some Loners fighting mutants at Izumrudnoye.
I skipped looting the Zombies and tried to rush to help the Loners, but it was too late, and they were all killed. I had to fight the Pseudodogs with my Chaser-13 which was not as effective as my Eliminator that I left in Pripyat. After looting the Loners, I went back the way I had come and saw the Bandits were looting the Zombies. I would have done the same. Now with all the new loot, I needed to return to the Skadovsk despite seeing the lit campfire far to the west at the Swamp where I might be able to sell the other SVD to.
Back at the Skadovsk, the squads were leaving at 8am, there was some brief firefights outside that I got to loot and make a little more, but it was low grade loot. I asked the various Loners where they were going, and one Loner was going to the northern lake. After selling some loot to other Loners and processing the loot aboard the Skadovsk, I left again and caught up with the single Loner going north-west. Thinking there might be Zombies or mutants awaiting him at the northern lake, I got ahead of him and went directly up the hill towards the road for a better vantage point.
I could see mutant dogs at the dock below and started shooting them with my GP-37. However, across the water at a small peninsula ( where Petruha and Awl had been killed ) I could see there was a firefight going on between two groups of NPCs. I didn't have time to see who, I just raced down the hill to help if I could. As I moved in, the number of NPCs surviving dropped on my Mini-Map and I saw red dots for Zombies. There were two Zombies left. One I shot on the ground and another to my left just standing there in a daze and unconcerned by my arrival. There were bodies everywhere.
Next to the Zombie I had killed who was standing was a dead Exoskeleton Loner. To my surprise, shock and delight he carried a weapon I had not seen in the Game yet. The FT-200M. A highly prized weapon that has the identification upgrade ( the only 5.56 NATO rifle to do so ) and one that has a built-in grenade launcher, of which the Call of Pripyat GP-37 doesn't allow the removable one to be attached. I had been wanting this weapon for some time and thought I would first see it from dead Mercenaries in Pripyat. I was so happy to get it now, in addition to all the high-end loot from the other dead.
There was so much loot I had to drop pistols and vodka. I went back towards the dock and saw no mutant dogs, or the Loner and I had a bad feeling he never made it. Sadly, I found his body nearby and that meant even more loot and I had to dump all my pistols, an AKS-74U and an AKM-74 just to keep moving. I made my way back to the Skadovsk and ended the video before I finished all my processing. Next was upgrading the FT-200M and probably spending way more than being able to reach my earlier goal.
