I go out again to the west and get on the train cars for an elevated view. I see the two Bandits by the pond are still there and I go that way but then head south once I get close to them. Passing the Mobile Lab, I go west again and come up to Volkhov from its northern flank, and to my horror I see the Freedom squad that I had just seen earlier, is under attack by some unidentified mutants.

As I get closer, the number of Freedom alive drops from three to two and to one as I look at the side door facing north and see the last survivor killed, still propped up in the door frame and snorks come flying out of the building towards me. I start blasting with my Eliminator but have to retreat to reload and ducking behind the fencing, the snorks don't follow. I pursue and kill the last two. Inside the building is a bloody mess as the Freedom squad had fought for their life but didn't have a chance if they were surprised.

Only hours before I had talked to them, walked with them and helped them secure Volkhov after the Pseudogiant that had been there I killed. I didn't know it yet but they were Dead Men Walking. How often does this happen in the Zone where someone you meet, is killed by another Faction or ripped to shreds by mutants. I didn't linger and was soon on my way back on the path I had come. I stopped by the Bandits at the pond and sold them some loot and was soon back to Yanov Station.

Going out again, this time I headed to the Cement Plant where it was easier to keep others alive. I spent several hours there, zapping a bloodsucker at the Quarry and enjoying the view. I left and headed towards the Plavni Anomaly where there was a firefight with the Loners and Bandits. More loot and I was ready to leave so the Loners there gave me fast travel back to Yanov where the video ends.
