I arrived back in Jupiter and went down to my main stash in the cellar, dumping for now all the extra 5.45 and 5.56 ammo I would be taking to Pripyat, and it was then that I realized I had forgotten to take my GP-37 with me. That meant another trip back to Zaton but for now I wanted to take a break and enjoy my new Gauss Gun in the wide-open spaces of Jupiter.

As it was right at around 8am when I arrived, all the Freedom and Loner squads were going out and I quickly ran out to catch up with them to see where they were going to the west. Some Loners were going to the spot by the pond between Yanov and Kopachy, and a Freedom squad was going to Volkhov. I had actually grabbed my new Sphere M12 Helmet I had been given by the Military in Pripyat and as Nitro could not do one of the third-tier options, I was taking it to Novikov for him to do it. Apparently he is the only person that can do that one upgrade.

Novikov did the upgrade quickly and I was done. I don't know why I did it, but I went around the corner to talk to Professor Hermann, not really expecting anything new to talk about but to my surprise there was new dialogue. Apparently having the documents from the Testing Workshop in Zaton, was something he wanted to see and copy. He paid 12,000 rubles for that. Not bad for giving up nothing. Of course, I still won't give Professor Ozersky the "Heart of Oasis" since the reward is so paltry ( 7,000 rubles ) when it is worth far more for all its properties. With it you never have to worry about running out of food or go hungry, so it can be used until you get back to your supplies.

After leaving the Mobile Lab, another Loner squad I met said they were going to the Parking Lot. From the roof of the Mobile Lab, I saw the Freedom squad to the north and I decided to follow them somewhat. I got slightly ahead of them and it's a good thing I did, as when I arrived outside the front gate of Volkhov, I saw a Pseudogiant fighting other mutants and winning. I knew the Freedom squad had no chance and I took it out with my new Gauss Gun. The surviving mutants immediately took off to the north heading straight to the Freedom squad. I ran over to them, but they fought off the attack. I left them in good shape to take over Volkhov.

I went back to the Mobile Lab then towards Yanov but I heard gunfire to the north by the pond and found Bandits had just killed the Loner squad I had only seen going there earlier. More loot and I was soon back in Yanov Station doing my routine. Going back out on the opposite side, I stood by Zulu's Tower, now empty and shot at some rodents and dogs at the north pond. Going west I joined a Freedom and Loner squads at the top of the Cement Plant Tower. I spent some time here, using the superior scope to blast some Zombies at the Plavni Anomaly with the Gauss Gun.

Across the road to the south by the Quarry, I heard gunfire and saw a Loner squad and some dead Bandits. I ran down to join them and after I had crossed the road and was standing among the dead Bandits when suddenly I was under the attack of a Controller's Mind Pull. I had totally not seen it and the Loners were walking away unaffected. As I was whipped around, I got my bearings and actually moved in closer to it and was able to blast it in the face with my Eliminator. I was very lucky.

The Loner squad had moved off to attack another bandit squad I had not seen either. I asked them where they were going, and it was back across the road to the Plavni Anomaly where we used fast travel and found it empty but there was a dropped weapon from the Zombies I had zapped before. From there I walked back to Yanov Station. It had been a busy day.
