Gold Diggers Game (Android & iOS)
Aim for all the riches in the world. But you can only do it by going deeper and deeper in this fast-paced fun mobile game called Gold Diggers. The aim in this game is to control and maneuver this giant drilling ship underground. You must collect as many gold as you can while avoiding the hard rocks on the sides. Aside from that, you must also avoid traps that shoots fire or else your driller will be destroyed. Collect power-ups to arm your ship with guns or extra health. Use the gold you've collected in the shop and buy different upgrades like drills and characters.

Ok, I'm fairly sure that we're all aware, or at least suspect, that real life mining is tiring, dirty, and dangerous. Despite that, virtual mining can still be a lot of fun, as games like Minecraft and the sort will tell you. Gold diggers, despite having the mining aspect and all, is actually not a Minecraft clone. Still, it's a fun game, and you'll be at it for hours.
With a name like Gold Diggers, you'd expect the game to be something like Dig Dug, or perhaps Loderunner. Now, while both are certainly excellent games, we won't be talking about them here, as this game has its own unique flavor, with a touch of inspiration from other older games making for some old-school gameplay with some newer flair added for good measure.
The graphics in the game are all done in some rather pretty looking 2D. Everything is drawn rather well, and while certainly some aspects of the game might not really make any sense from a realistic point of view, the game as a whole is still loads of fun to play. Everything in the game animates pretty well, and there's always a lot on the screen for you to look at, be it your mining drill moving deeper and deeper into the bowels of the earth, or the strange worm-like (the spice must flow!) creatures that pop up out of nowhere to devour you.
The music also keeps up with the graphics, setting a rather upbeat and fun atmosphere for the fast-paced and at times manic action of the game. You've also got the sound effects, such as when you nab some gold, shooter smaller worms down, or when the larger behemoth of a worm comes at you.
The game itself is fairly simple. You're given a mining machine, and you tunnel downwards trying to get at the gold in the deep places of the earth (where you might away something... of shadow, and flame! cough... ok, no more pop culture references for me) while dodging all sorts of different obstacles. In a way, the game is an endless runner of sorts, but plays nothing like the other endless games out there. It feels more like Ski Free if you were a child of the early 90s, or perhaps like Falldown if you had a TI graphing calculator in high school.
Along the way, you'll have to grab gold while dodging all sorts of obstacles such as large rocks too hard for your drill, or spinning fire thingies (this game is probably where Bowser mined them from for his castle... cough... ok, last reference, I swear), or the aforementioned large worms. You'll also get to other types of levels such as ones where you have to stay on wooden tracks and jump from track to track to prevent... falling I guess? Or levels where you're limited to a very, very narrow area of movement and you have to maneuver just right, like those wire games at fairs where you have to pass a loop around a twisted wire while preventing the two metals from touching. It's all great fun, with lots of variation to keep you from getting bored.
So what are you waiting for? Go on and grab yourself a copy of Gold Diggers for some great fun!
