Assassin's Creed II - Sequence 6; With Firenze safe from the hands of the Templars, Ezio follows Leonardo to his next destination, Venezia. Meanwhile, in the present, Desmond is tested on his skill retention from the Animus.

With Firenze safe from the Pazzi, and the Medici's rule secured, Ezio searches for Leonardo, who so happens to be moving to Venezia, having been paid by a noble to work on some paintings. Catching up with Leonardo, Ezio discovers that he's been working on a contraption that will allow a man to fly in the air like the birds around them. As they travel to Venezia, they are suddenly attacked by the Borgia, who mainly want Ezio dead... and maybe Leonardo if they find out he's been assisting them.

After fighting off the Templar soldiers, Ezio managed to keep both Leonardo and his contraption safe, as they now arrive at Forlì, where they meet Caterina Sforza, a countess of the region. To show gratitude for aiding her, Caterina allows Ezio passage to Venezia. Although Leonardo warns Ezio of her status and potential to be dangerous, the latter seems to admire that kind of trait in a lady. For now, the two would spend time as they travel all the way to Venezia.

In the present, Rebecca stops the Animus for a brief moment as Lucy and Desmond take a moment to walk around the warehouse to see if the latter has retained any skills while inside it. Considering that Abstergo has more power over them, defenses need to be activated in the situation they do invade their hideout. As Desmond sets up security, Lucy speaks more about Subject 16, and the consequences of prolonged exposure to the Animus. Through all the locations the previous Subject had explored, it was Italy seemed to hold "The Vault" Lucy had mentioned. After setting up defenses, Desmond and Lucy return to their quarters to rest up... although Desmond had some sort of dream... as Altaïr.

Returning to the Animus, Ezio now arrives in Venezia, exploring some of the sceneries with Leonardo, along with the obvious corruption spilling across the region. Once the two have taken the time to explore the scenery, Ezio and Leonardo part ways with each other, as the former attempts to find a way into the fortress that is housing Emilio Barbarigo. That's when he encounters Rosa and her men attempting to make their way inside as well, although their attempts fail as well. Ezio aids Rosa by fighting off the soldiers giving chase, eventually bringing her back to the hideout. There, he meets Antonio de Magianis, aiding the leader of the Thieves Guild by assassinating targets and rescuing some of his men. Once they have recovered their strength, they launch an assault on the Palazzo.

At night, Ezio and the others begin to surround the fortress, the thieves disguising themselves as guards, while the assassin himself infiltrates the fortress to kill Emilio. Once Emilio is killed, the remaining guards are eliminated by Rosa and the thieves. For his service, Ezio is given money, but information about a man named Carlo Grimaldi, a member of the Council of Ten. While Ezio keeps his intentions vague to Antonio, it's obvious that he plans on confronting him.
