Assassin's Creed II - Sequence 7; With Emilio dead, the Templars regroup with their leader Rodrigo Borgia, planning to assassinate the Doge of Venezia. Meanwhile, Ezio learns how to fly with the help of Leonardo.

Emilio is dead, and although the Thieves Guild celebrates their short-lived victory, Ezio continues his investigation across Venezia, coming across the other members of the Templars. The assassin begins to eavesdrop on their conversation, listening to Carlo Grimaldi expressing his complaints about trying to please the Doge of Venezia, Giovanni Mocenigo, to which Silvio Barbarigo responds by calling the old man a sycophant. Eventually, the two of them join up with the other members of the Templars, Marco Barbarigo and Dante Moro, the former who would inform Carlo and Silvio of Emilio's death. It's clear that they're becoming desperate, and seek to assassinate the Doge this week. With the help of their leader, Rodrigo Borgia, they plan on killing the Doge tonight and placing Marco as the leader.

Having lost track of the group, Ezio returns back to Antonio in an attempt to mitigate the damage he's done. If the Doge were to be killed, the Templars would have total control of Venezia, including their fleet. First things first, Ezio and Antonio take a moment to observe the Palazzo Ducale, to see if there is any way of getting in. But after some careful observations from all sides, it seems nothing can't penetrate the palazzo... except for the birds. This gives Ezio an idea to get the help of Leonardo, whose recent invention could be the key to entering the palazzo. They also need to place fire pits to utilize heated air to give lift to the flying contraption. Once the guards were dealt with, Ezio flew his way to the Palazzo Ducale, but it was already too late for him to stop the assassination attempt. The Doge of Venezia is dead, and Carlo attempts to escape from the assassin.

Ezio manages to catch up with him, killing the Templar in the process. But the damage is already done. Ezio is now seen as the one responsible for murdering Giovanni Mocenigo, and he is forced to go into hiding for the time being. There is, however, one way to fix this mess...
