Breath of Fresh Fire #25 - Exploring HighFort II
1Breath of Fresh Fire is a mod by ludmeister for the GBA version of Breath of Fire 2. This mod changes a number of things such as rebalanced characters, expanded shaman fusing options, rebalanced spells, and so on. The difficulty is lightly boosted as well.

Best way to kick off a video...a boss fight with a force field known as Portal. Seems interesting enough, right?
Anyways, Portal is pretty easy. It does have some attacks that hit everyone like Fire Breath and a decently strong physical strike, but nothing that will put you into danger instantly. I have everyone buff up with Power Pots, then wreck its face with all powerful physicals.
Afterwards, one thing is clear...find the control room, break it down. Climb a total of three sets of stairs, then take the staircase nearest to you, then the staircase to your west for a Bell & Tolen (Possible Death casting on Rand optional. Damned D. Bringers), then back down that staircase to the one on the eastern side of the room.
That staircase leads to Shupkay & the princess. Today's reason for the big bad evil to kill someone...sadness powering the machine to activate a secret weapon. If you guessed this, congrats, you win 1000 points and an easy boss fight! All Shupkay really does is Silence, Thunder, and occasional weak attacks. Decent defense though, even with Power Pots used.
Shupkay decides to go full on martyr and put herself into the human powered machine, but an intervention by Trubo means the machine is reversing the flow, causing random building in HighFort to crumble. Everyone makes their escape via an elevator which Sten stays behind to operate.
After scenes switch back to the throne room, the princess does the usual "thank you!" speech, asks you to watch out for Sten if he's alive (He is, don't worry. He refuses to go down easily), then hands over the Famous Flute. You're then escorted to the exit by Trubo who doesn't like to see the princess sad.
At the entrance, sure enough, is Sten. After the usual exchange of war stories, Trubo leaves to be by the princess's side while Sten gets to go around the world being a hero and all.
After exiting, warp back to Tunlan and save up.
