Breath of Fresh Fire #24 - Exploring HighFort I
2Breath of Fresh Fire is a mod by ludmeister for the GBA version of Breath of Fire 2. This mod changes a number of things such as rebalanced characters, expanded shaman fusing options, rebalanced spells, and so on. The difficulty is lightly boosted as well.

Time for Sten to do his thing and be the hero...we hope.
Exit this building to the south and go west across a gap. Sten's field ability hasn't really been used much except for entering this place and now. Basically, the hookshot from the Zelda games, but instead of a hookshot, Sten has his magically long arms to do the work for him.
After crossing over, follow the path as it goes up several flights of stairs until you reach a fork with a few potential paths going north. In order from left to right, leftmost is a dead end, middle leads to a Tolen, rightmost leads to a Dream Earring. Now look for a path going south and follow it until you reach a fork going northwest or northeast. Northwest leads to a chest with 1000 zenny. Northeast leads onwards to four sets of stairs eventually. Take the third from the left to proceed.
Next big room you enter is a bit mazey. Just head south, then follow the path as it curves towards a door in the northwest, but don't take it. Head east from it to another door and a warp. Follow this route until you hit a second warp leading to three paths going north. The paths on the west and east sides lead to chests. West leads to an Assassin Dagger, East leads to a Hawkclaw Knuckle.
As for the path going directly north...it leads to another fork with two doors to choose form. Left one leads to 1000 zenny, right leads to Shupkay talking to the princess about world domination or whatever. Sten tries to intervene, falls for ANOTHER cartoon trap door, and winds up where his party members are. Team's back together and this area just got easier since I don't have to worry about certain randoms causing problems.
By certain randoms, I mean D. Bringers. Sten could have run into one solo and boy would it have been fatal possibly. That's because D. Bringers can cast Death. Not good!
Other than that, fire based attacks wreck practically everything except one or two enemies. Considering Sten has Flame and Nina picks it up as well at lv22, it basically means dead randoms for the most part.
As for the areas the party has to explore....giant freaking mazes! It's better to watch the video to see where to go. Do make sure to check out the door on the northern end of the 2nd floor of this giant maze to find a healing fountain and a warp leading to a chest with a Moon Mask.
By the time you're out of the maze area, you should see three warps. Take the northernmost one to go onwards to find Trubo getting owned by a force field of sorts.
