Over 2 years after release, how does Guild Wars 2 fare now on Wine in Ubuntu? That is what this video intends to find out.

This video is generally cut into several sections:
1. Installing Guild Wars 2 2:14
2. Performance 5:06
3. Gameplay 9:06
4. Summary 10:03

While I tried to cover everything that seemed important to the Guild Wars 2 experience, there will be things I did not cover.

I've attempted to condense the video as much as possible without omitting any information I think could be worthwhile to know about.

I used the latest Nvidia drivers, which were the 346.47 drivers at the time of this video. I also used the latest PlayOnLinux, which was 4.2.6.

The Wine prefix used was clean, and the latest I could get my hands on which was 1.7.38.

While it seems Wine is definitely getting better at simulating all the required functionality Windows provides for native titles to run, and stability has increased, it would seem that performance is in a stalemate. There seems to be a great inefficiency somewhere in Wine's management of the translation between D3D and OpenGL.

I apologize in advance if I've made any mistakes, I attempted this video to the best of my knowledge. Hopefully you can take something informational away after watching this.
