Mega Man 3 (NES) Playthrough - Part 03: Snake Man
SEQUENCE BREAK. Because Mega Man 3, for whatever reason, has two Robot Master weakness chains; a 5-chain and a 3-chain. Not that I am complaining, it's not a bad idea to break up an otherwise routine order of destruction. Anyway, I hope you like the colour green.
If there was ever a weapon that seemed to be designed solely for blasting through this level, then it's Shadow Blade; generally twice as powerful for damage as the Mega Buster and featuring the ability to fire at several angles, it makes short work of just about every single obstacle that Snake Man's lair can utilise.
Up to and including Snake Man.
"But Snake Man's main weakness is Needle Cannon!", some of you no doubt mumble at the screen. Yes, that's true, but I don't have Needle Cannon yet, and with my current weapons it just so happens that Snake Man is the easiest one to break in the smaller weakness chain.
Speaking of Snake Man, I don't usually miss shots and get slapped around this much. Not that it really matters because Shadow Blade's still more than adequate at covering several clumsy movement errors and tearing the bastard apart anyway.
And he delivers the Search Snake weapon... eh, this is more of a utility than a weapon. Similar to MM2's Bubble Lead, Search Snake crawls along the floor but is not as limited in use; this thing can actually scale walls and continue onward. Not bad for certain layouts and enemy placements (which is where it really shines), but as a go-to weapon for conventional blasting through a level full of drones it's fairly low on the list.
