This video demonstrates Trine 2 gameplay natively on Very High settings at 1920x1080 (fullscreen) on Ubuntu 12.10 64Bit.

I play Trine 2 in this video up to the mission where you get to select all three heroes to play. Basically, this video covers the first three hero missions (introductory stage). So, don't worry about it spoiling the story, since it's only the first three missions.

I wish I could show you the framerates, but Trine 2 has no way of doing this. I can tell you that Trine 2 has AMAZING visuals. They play with the lighting and ambient lights really well, and make good use of color hues throughout the game.

The video does stutter here and there where FFMPEG drops frames, and the audio may sound not very crisp due to the fact I had to change its tempo in Audacity to synch it with the video. Trine 2 itself plays butter smooth. FFMPEG does not do the game justice in terms of framerate. I recorded the game with ffmpeg at -r 30.

Trine 2 is not a new game, it has been out for more than a year now. It is a full official Linux release on Steam. A friend gifted this to me yesterday, and after playing co-op with him I thought it would be worthwhile to showcase this game's beauty.

The Xbox 360 controller works great with this game. I previously played it on Ubuntu with only the 360 controller, which is why I seem rusty in this gameplay video. Had to get used to the Keyboard + Mouse controls.
