I'm not sure if Doctor Strangelove is supposed to be a pseudonym for the author (who I believe is Stanley Kubrick, but if I'm wrong feel free to attack me viciously in the comments, you have my permission to be really mean), or a character in the book, or whether or not "How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb" is a book written by the in-universe Doctor Strangelove, or maybe that Doctor Strangelove is just an alternate title for "How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb"... whatever it is, it's kind of weird and not readily apparent to someone like me.
Now, in this description, I'd usually tell you about all the cool references to How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb that you might've missed, but... I know nothing about it. Never read it, never saw it, never heard it... I pretty much know the title and that's about it. So instead of me telling you, why don't you tell me if I missed anything? Oh, and if you've seen or heard or read or whatever'd the movie/song/book that How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb is, please let me know what you think! I work from home a lot and I'm always looking for new media, so I love suggestions for stuff like that.
Side note: It's really annoying to talk about Doctor Strangelove's How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb in any sort of extended fashion, because it involves typing out Doctor Strangelove's How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb over and over again, hahah. I can't fault them for having fun with the title, but it's weird. It must be how Fall Out Boy song reviewers feel. I'm gonna give it a sweet acronym for the rest of this, lets go with DS's HILTSWALTB. Now that's catchy. That would've totally saved some time if I didn't come up with it after I was mostly done talking about it.
Anyways, this hack (DS's HILTSWALTB, but with Bob-omb on the end instead of Bomb... this acronym is already awful because I can't differentiate between the two) is from the vault, which is my catchy little name for "stuff I stuck on a hard drive many moons ago but edit and release when I don't have enough time to record an episode recently". I'm on the move again and that more or less takes over my entire life, so I haven't had much recording time for a month. Our more eagle-eyed viewers will notice that I haven't uploaded in three weeks, which I try not to do but definitely happens at least 10 times a year despite my barely-cobbled-together efforts to prevent it. When this happens and I don't think I'll have a day to record soon, I like to pull one of these old dusty gems out of the vault and polish it up the best I can to kind of bridge the gap.
Listening to this one is weird though. I don't know what the hell I was doing, but I'm playing some weird character in certain parts of it. I definitely exclaimed at one point "Nefariously, like bandits! Ha-ha!", which sounds like some weird movie line to me. It's not how I normally talk. But that's how recordings are sometimes -- they have the power to raise the dead. That was my mood and personality on some random day back in time when I recorded this originally. It's weird, when you think about it we're all a thousand different people.
