Hey friends, are you running a little late? You must have gotten stuck in traffic or something again. They really need to do something about that light, it holds up everything around it. I have this route you should check out sometime, if you just take the back roads around the mill you'll see---
What? No, it can't be me... I've been here for a while now. It must be you that's wasn't here on time. There's no way I did everything that goes into getting a video recorded, edited and uploaded on time just to accidentally set the date wrong on the upload time, that would just be foolish.
Haha, sorry friends, I might have too much fun with this. I don't know why I'm re-writing this description after realizing the video didn't go out on time, because that's only delaying it further, but in all honesty I don't think the time of upload matters that much. I've been trying to keep it consistently around the same time (about two hours before this went up, because that's easier than doing timezones), but I don't have a great reason why.
A long time ago I read that YouTube videos take a few hours to get integrated into the algorithm, so you should upload a few hours before the time you think your audience would be mostly available. So if I thought all y'all would be free around midnight, I should upload my video at 10 PM.
But the thing is, people that watch this channel are from everywhere in the world. Some of you have told me about your lives in Ireland, Brazil, Japan, Sweden, England, Malaysia, Russia, Spain... the list goes on. That covers most timezones right there in just the first few examples, hahah. So I just do it when I think I would be around to watch videos (in the US), which is sometime in the afternoon.
I should probably try and figure out how all that stuff works, but I just don't care enough. I think it's interesting, the whole science behind search engine optimization (which I'm sure would have a few negative words to whatever this unrelated rant is that I guess will now take up this entire description, hahah), but it's a lot of work for not a lot of fun. I like doing YouTube because I like playing people's games and making videos and sharing them and talking about my hobbies with people from all over the world. I didn't get into this to be some soulless accountant nerd that pores over long tail search relevance and peak hours and thumbnail color palettes, I just wanted to play some video games and share it with people. But at the same time, if I took time to really try on that, I could probably reach more people that might enjoy this kind of stuff, which would make me really happy. So I guess I'm torn between some weird cop-out version of artistic laziness and an attempt at greater success that involves basic effort, and if I know me, success can wait a bit while we suss it all out.
I just took the AC out of my room today and it's still absolutely freezing in here, but at least I can shut that window now. Why leave an AC in your room well into winter? Well lets hope it's artistic because otherwise it's just lazy, hahah. I didn't mean for these two stories to connect when I wrote that, I was just lamenting over my freezing room for a minute, but here we are. Someday I'm going to move somewhere where it never snows again and I'll probably grow to hate it.
I'm having a weird day but not in a bad way, I'm kind of looking forward to it. Hope you're feeling well as hell as well, hahah. Thanks for stopping by friend, it's always nice to see you! Try that new back road around the mill on the way home.
