Dark Destiny is a King's Field fangame by DMPDesign made in the Sword of Moonlight editor. The game follows the story of Dias Bagil, the man who would go on to become KF1US's Necron, as he seeks to unlock the darkness hidden deep inside him.

Continuing with the jobs in Central Village by taking another one for JDO. He speaks of the archmages of Orladin, but wants some information on them. Remember Atainius's Journal you picked up in his domain? Use this near JDO and he'll tell you to go speak with that woman in that one building about a staff mentioned in the journal.

After picking up a Verdite I missed in the forest, I reach Atainius's domain and speak with that woman. She'll mention something about her father finding something in the central forest and hands over the Dragon Staff of Elements to you. Return to JDO and use this near him to find out about how Orladin created four master elemental weapons that imparted great magical insight, but his disciples failed at this part for some reason. Atainius was close to unlocking the secret of the staff, but was sealed off in his domain before he could complete the task.

Return to the central forest and look for a giant mossy golem. Next to it is a pedestal where you can insert the Dragon Staff of Elements and gain entrance to the area inside. In here a voice, Orladin, speaks to you, thinking you are Jonas. He tells you to take four keys and pass the final test to inherit his final lesson. Go ahead and claim the four keys, each one attuned to a different element (water, wind, earth, fire), then warp back to Central Village.

This apparently bugged out my music to play the song that plays when you approach Orladin's fountain for the Central Village. Not that I'm complaining as its a pretty rad tune, but more importantly...time for a fun secret. North of JDO's shop is three pillars standing upright against each other. The center one is fake and you can walk right through it to reach a library.

Inside, you can talk to Torix, the keeper of knowledge. Basically, you can explore the library and check out what enemies you've discovered and items you've picked up which, if you talk to Torix several times, will be expressed as a percentage of the total items in the game you've collected.

More importantly, remember that Ancient Relic picked up long ago? You can use it near him and you can get a bit of interesting backstory from Demon's Souls from him and the bookcase right behind him. Head back to Central Village when you're ready.

Now, my goal is to go grab the four elemental weapons of Orladin. I decide to run by Harvine's Old Castle first since I can finish grabbing items from there save for two chests I can't open yet, but make sure to drop your Star Key in a pedestal first as two items will require you to warp out after you collect them.

First, if you come in from the Central Village entrance, you may remember the two bridges going over lava. Take the first one to a locked door. Open it with Harvine's Key as well as the chest behind it for a Water Crystal. the 3rd one. This grants the Purify spell. For 10 mp, this will heal a bit of hp and cure slow, dark, or curse status effects if you are afflicted by any of them. Worth it!

Into the castle, you'll see another pair of pillars you can use your Harvine's Flute on. Do so, then follow the long path up to the roof, use your flute between another set of pillars, then follow it to a roof with a hole you can drop down. At the bottom, use Harvine's Key to obtain a Wind Stone from the chest, then warp out.

Next, remember the spiral staircase inside Harvine's castle? Head back to that, but this time jump out of the window. Check for a chest to open with Harvine's Key to grab a Verdite, then look around for a pedestal to toss your Wind Key in. Walk across the newly formed bridge, then open the door at the end and, after a short cutscene, you can pick up the Wind Spear.

The Wind Spear is a damn near overpowered weapon. Good offensive stats, but what really makes it far and away the best of the four elemental weapons is its weight (0.1 kg, the lightest weapon in the game) and the fact you gain some mp for every hit you deliver to the enemies...magic included! Equip this weapon and don't look back.

Now then, I need to head to the West Coast and head into that area with the lava lake and the screen flashing blue. En route though, I open another Harvine's Key chest to grab Wind Crystal #3 and the Ice Storm spell. For 20 mp, this sends a tornado forward to hit whatever poor sap gets in its path.

In any case, I save up at the lava lake.

Got a whole new dungeon to go bust through next time!
