Breath of Fresh Fire #12 - Witch's Tower II
1Breath of Fresh Fire is a mod by ludmeister for the GBA version of Breath of Fire 2. This mod changes a number of things such as rebalanced characters, expanded shaman fusing options, rebalanced spells, and so on. The difficulty is lightly boosted as well.

Picking right up where the last video left off, take platform #1 (Assuming you're numbering them from left to right) to reach the eastern exit. Follow the path while grabbing a Herb nestled in a chest in the southeast corner of one room. You should arrive in a room with multiple floor tiles to step on and a few chests behind barred doors controlled by these floor tiles. Just watch the video to see what you need to do (Which I'm sure isn't the optimal route for this).
As for the chest rewards...Silk Glove, Wizard Ring, and Scholar Robe. The latter is a huge defensive upgrade for Rand. If he's not the top defensive unit of the team yet, he's there now or very close to it.
After getting through this room and climbing the stairs, you'll arrive at some moving platforms. Grab the two chests in this room (Wisdom Bracelet, an accessory that boosts wisdom by 10, and Energy, an item that recovers 100 ap to one target), then take the stairs in the south upwards to the witch's room.
On the way there, Katt hits lv16 and picks up Paralyze. Status effects on the enemies...so useful...NOT!
Anyways, stepping on the floor tile on the top floor will make you meet up with the witch, Nimufu. She'll tell you how to break the curse on the frog, but first, she wants Ryu to be her pet. When he backs off after this, she questions why he's doing that.
...Girl, you JUST said you were going to make Ryu your pet. Considering you placed a curse on Jean that turned him into a mambo sized frog, I think he's right to be nervous.
She then says nobody likes her, then is claiming to kill you and THEN play with you. I don't know what to think of her honestly, but she wises up after the fight.
I'm not going to even mention the boss fight because she didn't even bother doing any crap worth mentioning. Capital job there girl! Sten also thanks you for the experience which boosted him to level 15 and granted him the Haste spell.
She tells you how to break the curse...a kiss from a girl. Oddly simple enough. Get yourself out of the tower, then return to Jean in the forest and have either Katt or Nina talk to him and the curse will be broken, turning him in to...a frog prince. Jean thanks you and wants the party to come to his castle in the middle of the lake and joins the party.
You will get the chance to switch your team around now if you wish, but I'm not going to. The reason is that upon leaving the forest, you see a cutscene in which progress is being made back at Township on house building. I warp back there, then save up.
Got some sidequests to deal with next time!
