Breath of Fresh Fire is a mod by ludmeister for the GBA version of Breath of Fire 2. This mod changes a number of things such as rebalanced characters, expanded shaman fusing options, rebalanced spells, and so on. The difficulty is lightly boosted as well.

Last time, Ryu & Bow found Mina's lost pet pig and were just about to go return it to her. Upon doing so, she thanks you and says she's on her way back to Windia. As she leaves, Bow is sad because he wanted to be "friends" with Mina. Yeah I don't think that's the reason chief.

Anyways, the elder gives you 500 zenny for completing the job and, after more remarks about Mina from Bow, you can exit the building. As you do, Bow suggests you and him go to your rooms for some rest. Do so and, during the night, Bow is visited by someone called Kilgore. He wants Bow to sneak into Trout's mansion to steal the Magic Hood...whatever that is. Bow agrees, then decides to hoof it alone, saying he was always the superior thief.

Once you gain control of Ryu, exit the building and head north of the inn. A female bumps into Ryu and runs off. Wonder what that's all about. Continue onwards to the northwest to find Kilgore outside his manor. Upon speaking with him, he apologizes and says Bow is not the bad guy. Oh dammit Bow...

Head back to your room to find Bow standing there. Talk with him and he asks if you believe he stole anything. No is the best option.

Bow then explains what happened. That female that bumped into Ryu earlier? Turns out she was the one that took the Magic Hood and Bow is basically framed for stealing as a result. Guess he didn't ham it up as bad as initially thought.

After hopping in a trash can to hide from the prying eyes of a guard, he tells Ryu to carry him, trash can and all, to Niro at Ruins.

Try to exit town and a guard stops you. You could be a silly person and say it's actually Bow who's in the trash can, but for now, just lie like a good kid and head to Ruins. Bear in mind Ryu is going to be the only fighter for a fair while here so make sure you've got plenty of supplies to last until the next town.

Anyways at Ruins, Bow gets to come out of the trash can and hide out with Niro. Niro suggests that Ryu starts the search for this female thief at Hometown or Coursair. The former town isn't going to be of much use because we just saw her bolt out of there earlier, but Coursair sounds like a good place to kick off the search.
