Breath of Fresh Fire #3 - Pet Rescue
1Breath of Fresh Fire is a mod by ludmeister for the GBA version of Breath of Fire 2. This mod changes a number of things such as rebalanced characters, expanded shaman fusing options, rebalanced spells, and so on. The difficulty is lightly boosted as well.

Time to go find Suzy after the guys have been decked out with the best equipment they could purchase and making a trip to the item store for healing supplies.
Outside of town, it's best to be around lv3 before heading off to Mt.Fubi. Just head east, then south past some forest to the mountain entrance.
Right away in the dungeon, you hear some voices. Ignore them for now and just head inside the mountain to find a healing fountain you can use to grind up some if you require it, especially for the enemies around here. The only enemy of note is the Widow who can poison a target. Just use a Pure or the Purify spell to cure it.
The path stays linear for awhile...until you reach a big boulder. Cue the first actual boss fight with a trio of harpies known as Palo, Peach, and Puti. This can be a little dangerous as they tend to focus their attacks on Ryu. At lv4, three hits can easily knock off around half of his health. The harpies do tend to beat each other up early on though. Palo is the sturdiest of the bunch so try to focus on the other two first.
With the experience from this fight, Bow picks up a pair of support spells in Protect & Haste. Protect buffs a target's defense while Haste buffs a target's speed. Protect costs 3 ap, Haste 2 ap.
After the battle, go west for a bit, the north up the mountainside to a small rock. Push it off, then enter the nearby entrance into the mountain. Follow the path to a fork. Go southeast to a chest with a Headband, then return to the fork and go south through the door. Grab the FrRock on this screen before going south to a pit you should fall down. Exit the cave, go west to the world map, then west some more to a ruined building.
Inside this building is some kind of old man being besieged by Pests. Take care of them, but watch it. They are quite fast and will likely act before your guys can.
Both guys pick up a new spell from level ups after killing the Pests. Ryu gets Heal while Bow gets Drain. Drain costs 3 ap and leeches hp from a target.
After they die, all seems well...but then a giant Roach attacks. Its attacks do sting a bit, but it doesn't have much health. If the guys are at full hp or near it, you oughta be able to switch on auto attack mode and let that kill the bug.
After the fight, the man, Niro, thanks you for the assist and invites you to eat with him. He pulls out a pig and puts it in the boiling pot while taking off a collar. Upon further inspection, the collar belongs to...Suzy. Oh dear!
Luckily, Suzy is saved before being fried, allowing the guys to take the pig back to your hometown while fighting more enemies along the way just because.
Back in town, the game is saved before we go inform Mina of our success. That will come next time.
